IPL Photofacial
& Lumecca

IPL, Intense Pulsed Light, uses a bright light that penetrates just below the skin’s surface targeting the melanin (skin pigment) or blood vessels.

IPL, sometimes called photo facial, treats a variety of skin conditions, including hyperpigmentation (sun damage and age spots), rosacea and broken capillaries. IPL treatments also stimulate collagen formation in the skin, tightening pores for a firmer, smoother skin texture.

The Cynosure Palomar Icon utilizes the most advanced IPL technology on the market, which is referred to as Optimized Light Technology (OPL). Optimized Light Technology is superior for clearance of vascular and pigmented lesions that goes beyond single-wavelength lasers.

How it works?

IPL Laser is not an invasive technique so there’s no injections or needles involved. Instead, a device is used to send wavelengths of high-intensity light under the skin where melanin (the place that holds your red or brown spot) and capillaries are located. The light breaks the melanin into tiny pieces that are absorbed by your body.

In this way redness and aging discoloration are reduced and best of all your body response is to produce fresh, new collagen. That results in plumper skin and the reduction of fine lines and pores. You will see improvement with each treatment. The more brown spots, sun damage or redness you have, the more likely you are to need a series of treatments.

Lumecca

The Lumecca IPL device (also know as the “Fountain of Youth”) is an IPL or intense pulsed light treatment used to improve and brighten texture and reduce skin irregularities including sun damage, redness, brown spots, freckles, pigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles and superficial vessels.

There is no pain and no down time and takes care of the brown spots very quickly. The beauty of this is seeing the skin looking youthful, very smooth, clear and radiant, keeping the skin looking youthful and fresh.

Depending on your age, it is recommended to be performed 4 times per year or every 3 months.

The most common treatment areas are zones that are regularly exposed to the sun being face, neck, chest and hands. During the treatment, there will be a bright flash of light from the Lumecca which feels like a light elastic sensation.

Slight warming of the skin and redness are normal after the treatment and usual subside after an hour or so.
